Sebastian Tomczak has created a Max/MSP “digital overlay” patch for use with the MIDI2600 and Synthcart. The patch provides virtual keypads that can be triggered manually or via MIDI. The overlay indicates the alternate functions of each button, reducing the need for a television when adjusting Synthcart settings. With demo video.

A new technical article has been posted that describes the function of the keyboard “matrix” used in most non-velocity-sensitive electronic keyboards. This will be useful for those who wish to install the UMR Kit without a previously documented install.
